Pink is the new...?

What do you think of the Barbiecore trend? I’ve never been a Barbie girl, although I don’t hold strong anti-Barbie sentiments either. Full disclosure: I had two Barbie dolls when I was little but after treating them both to buzz cuts (trying to do the “pixie” which was popular at the time) they weren’t that interesting to me.

Lately my favorite stores are promoting their Barbiecore collections, assuming I'm looking to live the Barbie life. As I'm long gone from trend-obsessing teen time, I’m pretty sure they're targeting me by mistake. Still, am I going to have to jump in the shame bucket if I admit that I LOVE all that PINK!?

Besides, this is a good excuse to get some new books. Research. Of course, I’m aware the injection-molded plastic doll is a fuschia flash point - passionately beloved and militantly reviled. But what’s wrong with a little background - as pink and one-sided as it might be? Here are a few of the titles I ordered.
